Madison, Wisconsin – Today, Americans for Prosperity – Wisconsin (AFP-WI) applauded Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) for voting to advance the budget resolution in the Senate, a necessary step in extending President Trump’s 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. This resolution allows congressional committees to begin drafting legislation to extend the 2017 tax cuts and ensure hardworking families and small businesses are not burdened with unnecessary tax hikes.
To thank Senator Johnson for his support, AFP-WI launched an advertising campaign recognizing him for putting the American people first with his commitment to pro-growth tax policies.

AFP-WI State Director Megan Novak released the following statement:
“Senator Ron Johnson has been a champion for pro-growth policies that empower Wisconsin’s hardworking taxpayers and small business owners. Advancing this budget resolution is a crucial step toward extending President Trump’s tax cuts and continuing to enable taxpayers across the Badger State to keep more of their hard-earned money.
“If these tax provisions expire at the end of the year, Wisconsin’s economy will face serious consequences, including an estimated loss of 14,235 jobs and an additional federal tax burden of $2,099 on the average family in the state. We cannot allow our hardworking families, workers, and business owners to be hamstrung. We’re thankful for Senator Johnson’s work to extend the Trump tax cuts and advance policies that will lead to a more prosperous Wisconsin.”
These ads are a continuation of AFP’s Tax Day campaign launched earlier this week, and the organization’s $20 million Protect Prosperity campaign announced in January – the largest investment of any outside limited-government, conservative organization in support of a key pillar of President Trump’s agenda.
