Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin Announces Another Round of State Legislative Endorsements

Madison, WI – Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin (AFP-WI) today announced four new state legislative endorsements ahead of the general election on November 5th, 2024.

The state’s premier grassroots organization is supporting Sen. Rob Stafsholt (SD-10) and Jim Rafter (SD-30) for state Senate, and Rep. Shannon Zimmerman (AD-30) and Rep. Will Penterman (AD-38) for state Assembly. AFP-WI previously endorsed Sen. Duey Stroebel (SD-08) for state Senate, and endorsed Rep. Nate Gustafson (AD-55) and Sen. Dan Knodl (AD-24) for state Assembly.

AFP-WI State Director Megan Novak made the following statement: 

“AFP-WI is excited to support Stafsholt, Rafter, Zimmerman, and Penterman in the general election and continue the Badger State’s tradition of leading in conservative reforms. These principled candidates will fight for solutions that empower Wisconsinites to live out their American Dream. Along with Stroebel, Knodl and Gustafson, all are staunch advocates for freedom and committed to prioritizing prosperity and opportunity for Wisconsinites.

Endorsed Candidates:

State Sen. Duey Stroebel (SD-08)

Sen. Stroebel represented the 20th Senate District and previously served two terms in the State Assembly. As chairman of the Senate Committee on Government Operations and vice-chairman of the Joint Committee on Finance, Stroebel has been instrumental in shaping Wisconsin’s legislative landscape. His background as a small business owner and former school board member gives him a unique perspective to tackle issues facing Wisconsin families and businesses.

State Sen. Rob Stafsholt (SD-10)

Sen. Stafsholt is a long-time policy partner on regulatory reform, property rights, and taxpayer protections. He played a critical role in defeating legislation that would have increased energy costs. As a fourth-generation farmer and small business owner, he understands the issues facing Western Wisconsin families and will continue to fight for policies that improve their lives.

Jim Rafter (SD-30)

Jim Rafter brings a valuable perspective to the state legislature. He is committed to fighting for policies that improve the Greater Green Bay community and all of Wisconsin, and his leadership experience will be instrumental in getting the job done.

State Sen. Dan Knodl (AD-24)

Sen. Knodl is an exemplary leader who is unafraid to fight for Wisconsinites. He is a leading voice for expanding educational opportunities for students and families and a champion of hardworking Wisconsinites. He promises to fight for labor reforms to protect worker freedom. Knodl has the experience and knowledge necessary to be a leader on principled policy that helps all Wisconsinites.

State Rep. Shannon Zimmerman (AD-30)

Rep. Zimmerman’s proven track record as a member of the Joint Finance Committee proves he has Wisconsinites’ best interests in mind. He has spearheaded efforts to reduce excessive spending and cut taxes for Wisconsin families. With a strong background in business and a commitment to fostering job creation and community development, Shannon is a driving force in enhancing the region’s economic prosperity and improving quality of life.

State Rep. William Penterman (AD-38)

Rep. Penterman champions education freedom and economic reforms. He was a key player in expanding opportunities for students, including those with special needs, and has led efforts to provide much needed middle-class tax relief. He actively serves in the Army Reserve and will continue to defend pro-freedom policies.

State Rep. Nate Gustafson (AD-55)

Rep. Gustafson is a policy champion and strong AFP partner in the fight for freedom and against cronyism. He supports expanding access and lowering the cost of health care, champions families’ rights to education freedom, and is a strong advocate for tax reform to eliminate the state income tax and put more money in the pockets of Wisconsinites.
