ICYMI: Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin’s New Ads Peak Interest in State Supreme Court Race

Madison, WI – As NBC News reported Thursday morning, Americans for Prosperity-Wisconsin (AFP-WI) released new digital and connected TV ads supporting Brad Schimel as the “common-sense candidate who will uphold law and order and safeguard our communities.”

AFP-WI State Director Megan Novak joined Meg Ellefson on WSAU’s The Meg Ellefson Show to discuss AFP-WI’s efforts to support Brad Schimel and connect Wisconsinites on the importance of the Supreme Court race.

On AFP-WI Support for Schimel:

“There is so much at stake for our state, and frankly our country, for when you think about what the Wisconsin Supreme Court could be taking up in the coming years. Voters and AFP trust a candidate like Brad Schimel who will stand for the rule of law and not for a partisan agenda. That’s exactly why we backed him so early in this race to help get him across the finish line come April 1st.”

On Schimel Defending Our Constitutional Rights:

“It’s as simple as we can lose our Constitutional rights. AFP-WI fundamentally believes in our Constitution and our rule of law—the way our country was set up and our state was formed. We need to protect that at all costs because if we have an activist judge on the court and an activist majority like we unfortunately do now, there is no way to protect our state and our citizens… We’ll have whiplash on the court, we’ll have a partisan agenda, instead of nonpartisan constitutional protections.”

On the Importance of Public Safety/Future of Wisconsin:

“The other thing that is so important to me as a mom of young children is the public safety aspect. We need safe communities for families like mine and so many across the state to be able to raise their kids in safety and in communities that value… you know young children to go out and be able to ride their bikes down the sidewalk. That is all at stake on April 1st—our rights, our public safety, and our rule of law for the future of Wisconsin.”

On AFP-WI Being the Changemaker in Wisconsin Elections:

“We use really targeted data to make sure we’re reaching voters directly… We couldn’t do it without all of our volunteers across the state that give up their time and their weekends to join us to help fight for a better future for Wisconsin, whether it’s for themselves, for their kids or grandkids, whatever their motivation is, we couldn’t do it without them. And that’s the backbone of what AFP is fighting for.”

Background:

AFP-WI has reached out to over 175,000 voters in support of Brad Schimel since first endorsing Schimel on November 13th. Since then, our grassroots activists have been out in full force and will continue the momentum through Election Day on April 1st.
